Last month a small crew participated in The CrossFit Games Open.  Everyone agreed afterwards that it was bloody good fun.  But many of them also said that they were quite nervous about it, and needed some serious arm twisting from their friends to sign up .

It's totally understandable.  It's wired into us.  The status quo is safe.  It's comforting.  It's easy.  We're not saying you should enter the Open next year, it's just one option, one of many that could take your outside your comfort zone.  But step outside your comfort zone you must.

If you put limitations on yourself, if you are resistant to change and new things don't be surprised if nothing changes in your fitness.

We're in this for the long haul right?  Right?  I hope so...   But that means we've got a lot of exploring to do.

I'll let Bruce Lee have the final word....

“...if you always put limits on what you can do, physical or anything else, it’ll spread over into the rest of your life. It’ll spread into your work, into your morality, into your entire being. There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.  A man must constantly exceed his level.”
